There is a fundamental emotional need for individuals to feel recognized and respected by those around them.

You desire acknowledgement and gratitude from others for your abilities and input. This recognition serves as a motivation for you. However, if you feel neglected or used without any appreciation, it leads to a violation of your inherent need to be valued and respected, causing fear, anger, or both.

2. The need to be in control


Having control is significant for everyone, but it holds greater value for certain individuals. If you lack self-assurance, you may resort to being excessively controlling. Conversely, if you possess confidence and assurance in yourself, you will have less of a desire to control others.

If you find yourself dealing with a person who tends to be excessively controlling, it is essential to understand that they probably act this way due to their lack of confidence. By reassuring them and helping them gain a sense of security, their urge to control should typically decrease.


There is a necessity for individuals to have a positive sense of self. This includes having confidence in one's abilities and feeling valued as a person.


What I am suggesting is that instead of focusing on your weaknesses (which we all have), you should value yourself and acknowledge your strengths. When you have a strong sense of self-worth, it provides a stable foundation for handling any kind of challenge or circumstance.

Having high self-confidence enables you to respond to any situation in a positive manner instead of resorting to negative reactions like panic or avoidance in the face of potential conflicts.

4. The need to be consistent


It is important to have an understanding of what might occur in various circumstances. Receiving consistent support and behavior from those around you, including family, partners, and friends, is essential in order to avoid feeling constantly worried about unforeseen events.

Although it is possible for someone to change their views, their unpredictable behavior in response to the same circumstances can create uncertainty in your life, making it difficult to know how to respond.



Some individuals desire to alter themselves because of their lack of confidence. They feel insecure about their own characteristics and attempt to conform to societal norms, aligning themselves with those who exhibit a stronger personality trait.

If any of these requirements are not satisfied, it results in conflicts, either internally, externally, or both. Consequently, people tend to respond in four different manners.

They have the ability to respond in kind, exert control, separate themselves, or work together.

Extreme violence can ensue from seeking revenge or exerting control over others. Keeping parties apart does not solve the issue, whereas working together involves one party disregarding their own emotions and respecting the views of another.

By being conscious of these fundamental requirements and responses, you will acquire insight into your own and others' behavior. Recognizing and satisfying these needs will enhance your overall well-being, instilling a sense of self-assurance, and providing you with the fortitude to confront and handle troublesome situations.
